People portraits

Its photographers pleasure, making someone laugh and in showing them how beautiful they are. On my road trip in my village i have seen her looking after some 10 cows in farm land. I just entered and took some shots of cow for 10 mins by casually talking with her. While going i asked her for a photo,she was giving blunt poses like below.

 I asked her to smile,she did.Even then i was not satisfied.Then i showed the photos to her and said you look beautiful when smiling. She simple said " ada ammaaaa". Finally i got the shot i wanted and deleted those cow shots. Few shots where she was in complete shyness.

Rim light self portrait

Bought a sunglass ,so thought of taking it a photograph, later decided to make a rim light portrait than a product photograph. Simple setup ,just one light behind on left corner. Reduced the saturation completely. Thats it

Human interest-Homeless

I was landed in t.nagar after a 8hour journey from thanjore(my native). Approximately the time was 4.30am .From bus stand it will take 10 mins walk to reach my home. It was very cold at that time , but i shocked seeing this man sleeping in front of a road side shop without even bothering about the climate. Since i always travel with my camera, i took out my canon 550D and placed 50mm 1.8 lens. Went to my knees to capture this beautiful candid portrait.

1000 year history in low light

I had already taken some snaps of thanjavur bragatheeswarar temple in day light on my initial days with samsung digital camera, but after i bought my slr i want to take some snaps of it again,but not a same one so this time i took my tripod (though its not allowed there, fortunately they caught me only at the end of my session)

This snap is handheld at 1/50 shutter speed

Fresh year to start

  Happy new year folks. Officially my photos are in AIR now. Am launching my website herewww.suganthanphotography.com. This website was completely designed by my friend vinoth kumar.  I decided to launch my website on 12am on Jan 1st 2013. But i wanted to convey it via a picture(i personally believe picture speaks more than words). So gave some food to thought and decided to make this concept that tells ,My photos are in AIR (i mean in web)with my state of happiness. I took all my hard copies of photos and went upstairs in my armaments. Placed lot of big towels down( since i don't want my photos scratched by hitting the floor) and placed the camera in tripod. But i couldn't do it as i thought. when i flipped my photos up it was flying and going to all other places and started getting spoiled. I couldn't bare that , so i decided to do with 10 photos each time and stitched some 6 photos together to make this.
